Data for nine Asia-Pacific countries featured by CAI-Asia in the T-MAPPER website
The Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (CAI-Asia) Center collaborated with TRL in conducting a comparative review of measures on climate impact of transport in developing countries. The European Commission has commissioned this study to better understand and support the actions being taken outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) to mitigate transport emissions. The project aimed to:
- Provide a comprehensive understanding of policies being enacted outside the EEA to reduce the climate impact of the transport sector, some of which could be transferred to EEA countries, and
- Provide information on possible mechanisms to support the reduction, or avoidance, of increases in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from transport (in other areas of the world).
For this project, CAI-Asia and its partners have scoped and evaluated measures on transport and climate change for nine Asia-Pacific countries: China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.
CAI-Asia and the project team (TRL, ISIS, ECN, EMBARQ and GIZ) also helped identify mechanisms for the EU to support transport emissions reductions in these countries.
