New US Policy on Reducing Transportation's Role in GHG emissions

Yesterday, on Earthday, the US Department of Transportation released a Report to Congress, "Transportation's Role in Reducing U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions," ( http://ntl.bts.gov/lib/32000/32700/32779/DOT_Climate_Change_Report_-_Apr... ) which evaluates potentially viable strategies to reduce transportation greenhouse gas emissions, as mandated by the Energy Independence and Security Act. This study also examines the potential impact of these strategies on air quality, petroleum savings, transportation goals, costs, and other factors, including various co-benefits and negative impacts.
