Description:
In recognition of the need to synergize climate change and development strategies, the Manila Observatory (MO) in collaboration with Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (CAI-Asia), with funding support from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), implemented the Co-Benefits of Climate Change Mitigation: Coordinator in Asia Project from October 2006 to June 2007. This project aimed to consolidate and disseminate information on co-benefits initiatives in Asia through literature compilation and review, website launch (http://www.observatory.ph/co-benefits_asia) and an institutional survey. As the final output of the project, this paper provides an overview of the current status of cobenefits work in Asia, including trends, triggers and barriers, as well as plausible future directions and recommendations.
